TFW 2015 and Wolfcop

Well Kiddies another Texas Frightmare Weekend has come and Gone and I have to say that this was one of the best years for the Southwest’s Premiere Horror Convention. Once again I was on hand with  my Trusty Canon Camera and as always alongside looking to bring you the best in Convention Videos.

I was joined by Bri McGregor for interviews and hosting duties however I didn’t get as many Interviews as I was hoping for and again it is not as easy as it used to be especially when I am trying to shoot the entire convention.

I was fortunate to have met Victoria Price the daughter of Horror Icon Vincent Price who treated convention goers to a unique perspective on the life of the terror thespian.

My Weekend actually began on Thursday Night when I was asked by Loyd to shoot the Neve Campbell QnA so that it could play on the televisions in the hotel rooms during the convention which was a great honor for me to be asked for this responsibility for not just Loyd but for all of the attendees as well.

It was also great to hang out with my friend Camille Keaton on Saturday night at the VIP party as well as the other friends that I only get to see at TFW and the Phantasm Ball on Friday Night was awesome.

One of the best parts of Frightmare is The Screenings of films that are free at the event to attendees. And included in this line up is none other than Wolfcop.

Now I do admit that I became aware of this flick back in March when I participated in the Box of Dread unboxing where this was featured very prominently in the crate much swag for the film.
Needless to say I had to check this flick out.

A Canadian film helmed by director Lowell Dean, Wolfcop is mostly what the title states…A cop that becomes a Werewolf. However the film is more than that.

Taking place in the town of Woodhaven the film follows alcoholic slacker Sgt Lou Garou. With the town dealing with the upcoming election as well as an upcoming festival Garou is investigating a series of crimes committed by a gang called the Pigs and after meeting with his friend and conspiracy theorist Willie complains about satanic activity in the woods Garou enters the woods only to be subjected to a ritual. When he awakens in the morning he sees the pentagram carved into his flesh and soon showing the usual signs of being a lycanthrope.

Needless to say Garou soon transforms into a werewolf and while maintain his knowledge soon after tricking out his squad car Garou christens himself Wolfcop and soon after thwarting robberies and meth labs Wolfcop must face the real villains in the story the ones that made him. There are some Twists that you may not see coming.

I can tell you This flick will not be for everyone. The transformations are awkward and the use of juvenile humor is prevalent but it honestly works for the film as it clearly doesn’t take itself too seriously, The film is about a Wolfcop crying out loud!

Fans of Lovecraft will like this flick.
